So… why I even tried AI tools
Lately everywhere I scroll, I just see AI tools.
Instagram → “Top AI tools you MUST use”
YouTube → “Earn money using AI”
Even my friends started saying “bhai AI use kar, life easy ho jayegi”
At one point I got a bit irritated 😅
Like… is it actually useful or just hype?
So instead of watching more videos, I decided to try them myself.
Not in a fancy way. Just in my normal life:
doing assignments last minute
trying to stay productive (and failing sometimes)
making small content
I tested around 10 free AI tools for a few days.
And honestly… mixed experience.
How I tested (nothing serious)
I didn’t do anything technical.
Just used them when I needed:
help in studies
writing something
making something quickly
That’s it.
1. ChatGPT — the one I kept opening again and again
I’m not even exaggerating… this became like Google for me.
Any doubt → open ChatGPT
Don’t understand topic → ChatGPT
No idea what to write → ChatGPT
What actually helped:
explaining topics in simple language
giving starting point for assignments
saving time when I was stuck
One small issue:
Sometimes it sounds too “perfect”… like you still need to edit it.
👉 But yeah, this is the only tool I used daily without thinking.
2. Grammarly — fixed my “okayish” writing
I always thought my writing is fine…
But after using this, I realized — it can be much better.
What I used it for:
assignments
small writeups
It just quietly fixes things.
👉 Not life-changing, but definitely helpful.
3. Canva — honestly made things easy
I’m someone who avoids design work.
But sometimes you have to make:
PPTs
posts
thumbnails
Canva made it… less painful.
What I liked:
templates are already there
you don’t have to think too much
👉 This saved me more time than I expected.
4. Perplexity — felt like shortcut to Google
This one was interesting.
Instead of opening 5 tabs… it just gives:
answer + sources
When I used it:
quick research
when I was too lazy to read articles
👉 Not always perfect, but faster than Google for sure.
5. Notion AI — good… but I didn’t stick with it
I tried using this for notes and planning.
It’s actually good.
But I’ll be honest — I didn’t continue using it.
Maybe because I’m not that organized 😅
👉 If you like planning, you’ll love it. Otherwise… maybe not.
6. ElevenLabs — this one surprised me
I tried making a voiceover just for fun.
And the voice sounded… almost real.
That was kind of crazy.
👉 Only problem: free version finishes quickly.
7. Copy.ai — decent, nothing special
Used it for captions and small content.
👉 It works, but I kept going back to ChatGPT instead.
8. Pictory — cool idea but limited
Turning text into video sounds amazing.
But free version felt restricted.
👉 Maybe useful if you go premium.
9. Durable — made a website in seconds
I tried this just out of curiosity.
And yeah… it actually creates a website fast.
👉 But you don’t get much control, so I didn’t use it further.
10. Zapier — powerful but confusing (for now)
I could tell this is useful.
But at my level, it felt a bit complicated.
👉 Maybe later when I actually need automation.
So what did I actually continue using?
After all this, I didn’t use 10 tools.
I just stuck with:
ChatGPT
Canva
Perplexity
That’s it.
What I realized (important part)
Before trying, I thought AI tools will:
make everything easy
save tons of time instantly
Reality?
They help… but only if you use them properly.
Also:
Too many tools = confusion
Simple advice if you’re starting
Don’t do what I did (trying everything).
Just pick 2–3 tools and use them properly.
That’s more than enough.
Ending this here
I’m still figuring things out.
Next I want to try something interesting:
👉 Can I actually make money using only free AI tools?
Not sure how that will go… but I’ll try.
Let’s see.
